December 2011
Hello everyone I would like to first say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. As the new year approaches we all will be facing difficult times in the future and having sound skills and mental state will help wither the storms that are fast approaching. Winter is a good time to work on mastering your wilderness skills as it teaches you the fine details of what it takes to live in the wilderness. You can learn more about wilderness living and survival in the harsh weather than you ever can in nice warm weather. I recommend to the serious wilderness student to go out in the worst weather you can find (keep safety in mind please) and practice your skills while it is still safe to do so. If you find that your uncomfortable you can just pack it up and go home but you learn valuable lessons for the next trip into the woods. Each time you do this you build on your experience and knowledge so that when you really need the skills for survival they will be well honed and ready for use. I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday season and we look forward to seeing you soon.

In Memory
Fondly we remember…
Edward Lee Mowery 1949-2008.
Ed has been a student for the last year and came to many classes to learn skills or just hang out when he was sick. His wife supported him with his passion to learn primitive skills. If my students have half his passion they will be awesome in the skills. I will miss his phone calls and visits at my home to learn primitive skills.
